Today, the Government of Canada has launched the Canada Dental Benefit.

This means that parents of children under 12 who meet the eligibility requirements will be able to apply for this benefit. Families earning less than $90,000 will be eligible for up to $1,300 over two years for children under 12 to get the dental care they need.

It is estimated that there are about 500,000 children eligible for this benefit across Canada, but in order for families to take advantage of the program, they need to apply.

This benefit will not be provided automatically. It must be requested through the CRA website.

This is the first step in our plan to build a Canada-wide dental care program to make sure everyone who needs dental care can access it.
