Call for Proposals - Union Training and Innovation Program (UTIP)
September 9, 2022

The Government of Canada has launched a call for proposals under Stream 1 of the Union Training and Innovation Program (UTIP) – Investments in Training Equipment.

The UTIP program will invest up to $10 million in projects that provide unions with up to 50% of the cost of new training equipment and materials. Successful projects will support unions across the country in improving the quality of training that registered apprentices and pre-apprentices receive. These projects will also support the development of environmental skills for Canada’s transition to a clean economy.

This UTIP call for proposals also supports the new Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy announced in Budget 2019 which builds on the success of existing programs to strengthen apprenticeship supports for Canadians while allowing the Government to be more flexible and responsive to the needs of apprentices and those seeking work in the skilled trades.

Details on how to apply to the Training Equipment stream of the UTIP call for proposals can be found here.

The deadline for organizations to submit is October 12, 2022 at 3:00PM (ET).
