Age Well at Home Initiative
June 13, 2022

This week, the Government of Canada launched the Age Well at Home (AWAH) 2022-2023 Calls for Proposals (CFPs) for projects across Canada. This new federal grants and contributions program will help low-income and vulnerable seniors to continue to live safely, independently and comfortably in their own homes and communities for longer.

Age Well at Home is composed of two streams:

In-Home Support Pilot Projects which funds organizations that offer eligible volunteer-based services to seniors. Eligible services could include meal preparation or delivery, light yard work, snow removal and home visits. Organizations can receive up to $800,000 in funding.

Employment and Social Development Canada will invest in projects from eligible organizations that focus on providing services to low-income and otherwise vulnerable seniors, primarily in the seniors’ homes who need help to age at home, primarily through volunteers. The objectives of the initiative are to:

For this stream the minimum request is $300K and maximum request is $800K per project.

Scaling up for Seniors which funds eligible organizations to help them expand services that have shown positive results in Canada. Organizations can receive up to $2 million in funding.

Employment and Social Development Canada will accept project proposals from eligible organizations that focus on both objectives:

For this stream the minimum request is $100K and the maximum request is $2M per project.

The deadline to submit applications is July 22, 2022, at 3:00 pm Eastern Daylight Saving Time. If your organization would like to apply for funding or learn more about this funding opportunity, please consult the Employment and Social Development Canada Funding Programs page.

To simplify the application process and provide funds more rapidly, organizations can now complete and submit project proposals using an online form. You can access the online application form by clicking on the following links:
