Celebrating Canada’s Agriculture Day
February 22, 2022

Today, on Canada’s Agriculture Day, we’re celebrating the farmers and producers across our country who put quality food on our kitchen tables every day. We are fortunate to have a vibrant, strong agriculture and agri-food sector that supports thousands of jobs across the country.

To mark the day, Minister Bibeau announced the launch of the second intake of members for Canadian Agricultural Youth Council. The 18-month term will officially start July 1, 2022 and will be made up of new and returning members youth who are creative and who have a passion for food and farming. We are looking for young people aged 18 to 30, who work in or study the agriculture and agri-food value chain, and who are interested in shaping the future of the sector.

The application deadline is March 22, 2022.

Our government will continue to advance the interests of Canadian farmers, helping to create growth and opportunities for farmers, farm families and rural communities across the country. You can learn more about these initiatives here.
