Marking 100 Days in Government

When our Liberal government was sworn in just one hundred days ago, we promised to continue to grow the middle class, tackle climate change, and a build a better future for all Canadians.
We are committed to continue delivering on these priorities to ensure that Canada moves forward, leaving nobody behind.
Within our first 100 days, we have already:
- Surpassed our target of creating 1 million jobs and recovering 108 per cent of the jobs lost to the pandemic;
- Supported small businesses through the pandemic by extending the CEBA and RRRF repayment deadline;
- Banned harmful conversion therapy across the country;
- Tabled Bill C-5 to address systemic racism and discrimination within Canada’s criminal justice system, and repeal mandatory minimum penalties for non-violent crimes;
- Provided 10-days of paid sick leave to federally regulated private sector workers, and extended COVID supports for workers and families;
- Raised the minimum wage for federally regulated private sector workers to $15/hr;
- Signed Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut to our national early learning and child care plan which means nine provinces and three territories have now joined our plan to make child care more affordable for Canadian families
- Announced the construction of over 10,000 new affordable homes through the Rapid Housing Initiative;
- Improved digital access to mental health by launching the PocketWell app, a free companion app to the Wellness Together Canada online portal;
- Welcomed more than 7,000 Afghan Refugees with more arriving every week;
- Ensured the health and safety of Canadians by mandating vaccines for those boarding a plane, train, or cruise ship in Canada;
- Provided $56 million in urgent humanitarian assistance for the people of Afghanistan;
- Procured enough pediatric vaccines to vaccinate every eligible child;
- Signed contracts to receive 1M Pfizer and 500k Merck therapeutics for Canadians;
- Launched Emission Reduction Plan consultations to ensure we meet our target of Net-Zero emissions by 2050;
- Signed on to the Energy Transition Statement at COP26, committing Canada to eliminate public financing for international fossil fuel projects by the end of 2022;
- And so much more.
The first 100 days been focused on Canadians every step of the way.
