National AccessAbility Week 2022
May 25, 2022
National AccessAbility Week (NAAW) is taking place from May 29 to June 4. This is a time when we highlight the valuable contributions of persons with disabilities in Canada and promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities across social, economic, cultural, and political spheres.

This year’s theme is Inclusive from the Start. Imagine a Canada that doesn’t just accommodate disability, but one that is disability inclusive from the start.

That’s the Canada we’re creating through the 2019 landmark Accessible Canada Act, investments in affordable, accessible childcare, a robust employment strategy, and Canada’s first-ever Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

Leading into NAAW, ESDC is hosting the inaugural Canadian Congress on Disability Inclusion. This virtual event taking place on May 26 and 27, will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and insights to help shape accessible and inclusively designed communities and workplaces across Canada.

This virtual, interactive and accessible event is free and open to all Canadians. It will bring together:
The Congress will feature prominent disability and accessibility advocates and community members and is open to the public. They will share insights and help shape accessible and inclusive communities and workplaces across Canada.

Registration is open here.

When persons with disabilities have the same opportunities to contribute to their communities inclusively, everyone benefits.
